transformations of the environment in which children grow and develop have
been as dramatic as the last decade's explosion in interactive
technologies. Personal and collective decisions
– about, for
instance, education and child-rearing
– should be informed by research on how interactive media
shape the developmental trajectories of thought, emotion,
relationships, and physical competence that have unfolded in young human
creatures for millennia.
